Quote: andrew who, exactly have you been talking to? curious to see how they come up with the 100 an ounce theory. They could be speculating that the class action lawsuit against JP Morgan and others for illegally depressing the price of silver will cause silver to jump to its traditional 15:1 ratio with gold. At Friday's close, taht would put silver around $90.00/oz.

Quote: bherring...most of the sellers are probably like me and bought this summer or earlier at around $17 an ounce...not hard to make up the seller's fees and still turn a nice profit as fast as it has risen this year.
I can understand an auction if you don't have the $500 minimum. APMEX currently pays $26.27/ea. for SAE of any date, but you must sell them $500 worth minimum. What I don't understand is people selling GAE at just over spot and then paying all the fees. A raw 1 ounce GAE meets the minimum by itself and people often lose $150 or more selling it on ebay vs. shipping it to APMEX. Happens every day.

Quote: People tend to be a little crazy right around election time. Both sides have been talking for months about how bad the "other guy" is. Not surprising that people think they are trying to choose the lesser of two evils and we're screwed either way. Politics is simple. Before they get elected, they kiss our ass. After they get elected, we kiss their ass.

This is MORE crazy! http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/776...-pension.htmThis guy sees $10,000. an ounce gold coming, & sooner rather than later. He was also written up in the WSJ last week. An awful lot of richer (more knowledgeable?) than me seem to think it is all going to heck soon.

I never pay above spot online, even with shipping included. That still doesn't stop me from buying with the market the way it is now, it just means I haven't seen any new ASE's in awhile :). I mean, look at what silver was at 10 years ago and think back on what people were saying then (it won't rise, time to sell, etc.). I don't think it's that crazy to assume precious metals, and silver in particular, will keep rising.

Given the economic situation (Quantitative Easing et. all) they HAVE to rise, the only questions are how far & how fast.

I was thinking of offloading a good chunk of my silver to create more funds to purchase when the price tanks again, but I'm almost thinking I should hold off for a little longer.

i just sold a good chunk of silver, but I'm thinking I should hold on to the rest for that very reason.

Every time we fill a trash can up with cans, I take it in. Then we go out to dinner :). If it doesn't cover it, it sure comes close.
