I have a very heavily chopped Japanese Yen that I am fairly certain is a Year 7 (1874) but would like an opinion from a collector of Japanese coins. There is no way to see the spiral on the pearl or if there ever was a Gin mark. It is so heavily chopped it is deformed into a little bowl. Maybe a sake cup!
Are there any Chopmark collectors out there?

I can not vouch for mint or post mint damage. I am getting old but not that old!
I can only vouch for the fact that none of it is post purchase damage. I have had it perhaps 20 years or so and have not added a single chop of my own.

It certainly looks like a Year 7 to me.
