Confirm Japanese Yen Date - Coin Community Forum

14ers Valued Member United States 230 Posts	Posted 11/02/2010 07:15 am I have a very heavily chopped Japanese Yen that I am fairly certain is a Year 7 (1874) but would like an opinion from a collector of Japanese coins. There is no way to see the spiral on the pearl or if there ever was a Gin mark. It is so heavily chopped it is deformed into a little bowl. Maybe a sake cup! I can only vouch for the fact that none of it is post purchase damage. I have had it perhaps 20 years or so and have not added a single chop of my own. Report this Post to the Staff
