Hi all!
I am not a collector in the classical sense...
However what I am trying to do is sort out some of these so called thraco-macedonian coinages: Although I have already been through a lot of auction catalogues and collection publications I know that many of these coins are sold without ever being published...
In this era of networking and mass-projects, I am sure that research can be taken to a different level than the routes usually followed by scholars, which often steer them on divergent routes, away from collectors!
Thus I was wondering if anyone who had such coins in his/her collection would care to share photographs and technical information (weight, provenance etc) with me!
If you do decide to help you can tell me whether you would like to have your name in the final publication (if I actually ever publish!) or have the coins referenced anonymously ("Private North-American collection" or something)!
To give you an idea of the things I am especially interested in, I will list the following:
- Coins classed as "Lete"
- Centaure
- Centaure and Nymphe
- Bisaltes (including the anonymous issues sometimes attributed to ALexander I)
- Mosses
- Alexander I
- Orreskioi
- Derrones
- Getas, King of the Edones
- Eion
- Ichnaians
- Stars, Rosettes and geometric forms
- Bees, horses, apes, crabs (sometimes catalogued as Cos), scorpions (sometimes catalogued as Asia Minor), bulls, ants, oxen, goats, etc
- Generally anything even vaguely classed as "Thraco-Macedonian" or "Uncertain Macedonian" etc
The following plate will give you an idea about what I am looking for; however it is far from exhaustive, and if you have something that even vaguely looks as if it could fit the subject, please let me know!

If anyone has anything of interest please leave a message here!
Thanks for your help in advance!Getas75
