So who knew they made these things? Probably all of you, but regardless, my wife just found out they did! And to me that's a good thing. I've been trying to get her into collecting coins with me, but she wasn't having it. Well at the coin show today she discovered them!
So I'm all for it. For the most part they seem to be inexpensive and not too hard to come by. So what I'd like to know (because I don't collect paper money - yet!), what kind of binder should I get to keep these in?

For sure! I bought some of ours at Disneyland in the 70s, again in the 80s, and then at Disney World in the late 80s. Don't ask me why, I just think they're a part of my adolescent adulthood. Bought them for the kids, but kept them in mint condition for Mickey and the gang.

Well either way I'm glad she's into it. I don't care for that holder that you posted (no offense though!). I might try to do her up one for Christmas so she can really start getting into it.

Quote: I don't care for that holder that you posted Just kidding. I don't care for it either but its the only thing I could find that went with them. I'm sure you could find a nice album with currency pages that would look good.

I think I'll get her a nice currency album like you say. I don't know what those would be, but I'm hoping Dansco will have some since I like mine so much!

Dansco does have some, but you can also make your own like I did. I got a bunch of those protected sleeves that were put together in groups of three, then you can put it in a folder or a binder

I bought a Whitman currency album at the show today. I actually got "dealer" price for it since I was talking to someone about it for quite some time. He took me over and pulled out the exact one he has for his personal collection and told me I wouldn't be upset.

apparently there is quite the market for these.
One dealer of them told me a Tinkerbell one from disneyland (not world) was worth over $1000 dollars. only like a few hundred known.
Crazy, but its a money analog, and collectible.. so I guess it belongs in the genre.
Bobby, I think we need a section for Disney Dollars XD

It's pretty crazy. I couldn't pull the trigger on the Tinkerbell this guy had (PCGS - PPQ?66) for $80. Looking back now, I should have bought it.
Funny though, TPC will grade anything...
And I will say this about Disney - they know how to make collectibles. Apparently they never release a mintage on any of there dollars. They don't tell you how many they've destroyed or anything. I did learn that if you take these back to Disney and spend them, they put them in a drawer that at the end of the day is then taken and destroyed. Disney sure has a knack for this stuff.

My wife and I have spent our share of Disney Dollars over the years (it is an easy present to give us since we go to WDW a lot). I have never thought of collecting them though. After reading your other post, I realized that we have some Disney Dollars left from the last trip.

A question about the disney dollars. Do they have any security features to prevent counterfeit? Do they feel just like regular paper?
I didn't really know there was collectable disney dollars out there.... I did know that there are a bunch of pins with different disney characters on them. I got a few when I went to disney world.

They are embossed just like regular money. They have that nice waxy feeling to them. As far as security features... I don't know. I'm pretty sure that there is some way to tell (I'll look in the book when I get home) because PCGS will certify and grade them.
