Had 2 good boxes, 2 not so good. Highlites were the 82-83 P&D. Never really believed the FMV site until the past few days.I had a roll of 82-p gone within hours. Sold about 10 singles as well. My son wanted to test the waters with a roll of 82-D. He had an asking price of 27.00; and it went in 1/2 hour. I think he'll put up some others today. He does the bay, where I have enough connects by now that a few phone calls saves me the hassle. Selling to bay connects off-auction? Hmmm..... That's for another thread. Here's the basic take: 11/1-11/5 29 x 2 36s 39 x 3 40 x 5 40d x 2 40s x 6 41 x 5 41s3 42 *42 x 2 *43 *43s x 3 *45s x 2 46 x 3 46s x 2 47 47s x 3 48 x 5 48d x 3 49 x 3 49d x 2 49s x 2 51s 52 x 2 52d x 5 53s x 2 53 x 5 53d x 3 53s x 4 54 x 2 54d x 7 54s 55 x 2 56 56d x 4 56s x 2 57 57d x 6 58d x 14 59 x 2 59d x 12 Among the curiousities and stand-outs, the war nics The buffs, 3 very readable Total non-damaged pre-'60s A '40-S trying to grow steps Found several of album once-weres And that one where you dont know what you have Had several foreign, given to my g-son already. No pics, but they incluced coins from Canada, Great Britain, Namibia, Japan and a bi-met Mexico. Two odd rims A 360 degree partial collar Not a primo '82, but Jeff seems to be sliding off And, out of 8000 pieces, the one and only Hope this turned out, my preview isn't working. yeah I'm confused as well. I've done 4 boxes and gotten some good finds, but way fewer than that.
were these boxes special in some way?

Maineman, FMV puts the 82-P @ .24 in G4 and 3.60 in MS60. It rivals most other dates. I've had no problem getting the MS value, especially when asking 2.50. Obla...., Actually, this lot as a whole stunk. I had an entire box that looked "bleached-out". The box I'm messing with now is incredibly beat-up. Last trip to that bank for awhile. The finest box ever came from a check-cashing joint. These boxes from the bank are dated from Oct. Those from June-July are pretty productive.

hmm...fill me in. so you think check cashing places are worth a shot?
do they usually have boxes of coin on hand? do you have to actually cash a check there to get the coin? etc.

If you can them from them. I live in a small city and know the mgr. pretty well. One of my wife's buddies. At one point, I cashed very large checks there, which helps, I guess. They dont tell you they can order them, that's not their focus. It's always worth a shot. They tend to have the older boxes. At first I was getting the older ones from my bank, but I went through all they had. Each shipment seems a little poorer. New hunting ground needed.

Quote: And, out of 8000 pieces, the one and only I found 10 2009-D's in the brinks box I went through last night, along with 12 2010-D's. Seems the 2009's are finally starting to show up out here in Cali. Only other one worth mentioning was a 1945-S silver.

so you've been able to sell the circulated rolls of 82p and d or the uncirculated?

That 1st box had so many, I didn't save anything under about 50. Heck, even in AU50, they're FMV valued at 2.00 As far as selling my son did a quicky auction and got 27. for a roll of 82-Ds, UNC being FMV valued at .96 each. He was here awhile ago and said he he had alot of mailing to do tomorrow I sold a roll of Ps and a few other things to people I know. My son will probably put a roll or two together tonight. This stinki' box I'm in now appears to have gotten wet at some point. Wouldn't be so bad, but it's my last one till 9 tomorrow morning.
