I broke a roll of Volunteer dimes, and was asked to report on what I found in the way of dimes with tails and the number of dimes without tails. Out of fifty dimes, only 1 dime came through unscathed. The most predominante area that saw tails was the roman numeral II, it almost appeared on every dime except maybe three of four. If the word Elizabeth did not have tails, then the word Canada had tails, or both had tails. Interesting. Here is a picture of one dime I came across, there may be more when I go through more thoroughly. When I viewed these dimes, I was only a 8X power, I really did not need anymore power for these dimes.

I remember this being discussed in another past post.I started saving these types until I had so many,I cashed them all in at the bank. Now the problem I found was getting a good one(unblemished) for my collection.

Hmmmmmm. So the flaswless ones may be worth more to collect because they're harder to come by No wonder the die trails ones aren't mentioned much. Thanks a lot for letting us know EnforcerAl as I was one of those VERY curious about what you might find.

The ones I've found, some are extremely noticeable to the eye without magnifying so yeah, no need for a strong magnifier to know its die trails ones.

I only have a couple or three of the trail dies ones. I'd rather have something like a 2000 P or a 1969 large date or two though

Now once I found one of those with the texturing frosted looking parts so I assume I had a silver proof or something. Should have kept it, and next time I find one, I will.
