Hello,

I have had this coin for a while, Does anyone know what it is? Both sides of the coin are the same, thats why there is only one scan.

Around the rim it says "Carol IIII DG HIS P.ET IND are 1792
What-Is-This-Coin?

Around 3:00 on the coin there is a marking of the letter A. (Looks like a P in the scan)

The coin has a real gold color when held in my hand. (Scan doesn't show the colour well)

This is a quote from the link sgtbigred provided

Quote:
The real coin is worth 100s of US dollars (1000s when in good numismatic condition, like our picture), while the replica is worth about $10 on a good day.

Why would someone ever want to buy a replica coin?

It may depend on your budget. If a coin is worth 100s or even 1000's of $$ for some collectors it could be out of reach. In this case the only chance to get a likeness of the desired object is to go after a replica. Of course, replicas could be of different levels.
