Once I realized that everywhere I lived for long (so far) has a commemorative coin, I decided I should pick them up. I grew up in Chicago and I already had a few Columbian Halves. Then, I spent a decade or so in central Illinois. It wasn't Springfield but I figure it's close enough for this Lincoln to count. After that, I moved to the San Francisco Bay area for the last 5 years. Now, in about a week and a half, I'm moving to Albany, NY. I'll start looking into picking up a Bay Bridge coin and an Albany coin. We'll see what comes next.

that reverse looks like the reverse from the Mexican 1 peso from 1957-67.

I have always thought that is the best eagle on any US reverse. Nice coin.

The reverse design is the Great Seal of the State of Illinois. The obverse design is based on a statue outside of the Illinois State Capitol depicting President-Elect Lincoln delivering his farewell speech to Springfield. I was in Springfield a couple years ago on the Bicentennial and took the opportunity to do some trick photography with my Illinois commem-
