Litotes Pillar of the Community Norway 510 Posts	Posted 11/11/2010 04:16 am I came across these lying for sale at an auction site. I am unfortunately still unable to tell the difference between real ones and fakes, so I was hoping for some help here, if it is possible to determine from these pictures only. Getting more pictures or better ones is not a likely prospect. So - real, fake or inconclusive? And if fake, a collectable one or not? Report this Post to the Staff

swamperbob Pillar of the Community United States 5362 Posts	Posted 11/17/2010 7:54 pm Missed this post while I was away. The Cap and Ray is a real coin. There are no similar cfts. The Pillar dollar is a bit harder to be sure of because there are great fakes out there. The edge would be helpful - try to find the seams (reversals are easiest to spot) but make sure they are 1880 degrees apart. Report this Post to the Staff
