Hi Everyone-

I've caught the bug and am just starting out and would appreciate any tips you all may have in regards to proper photography techniques, tips, settings etc. I have a Canon rebel XTi 10.3MP and hope with the proper guidance that it will suffice for cataloging and submissions for gradings. Also, any recommendations in regrds to best post photo processing would be appreciated. I have both Firestone and Iframview installed but also know about aviary.com if more should be required?

Thanks much!

best advise I can give is this:
1 load the canon software that come with it on your computer and use it. hen you can use the mouse as your shutter trigger as well as make any neded camera adjustments / settings..
invest in a macro lens. no need to go with Cannon. tamron or Sigma will do just fine.
I use the Tamrom 90mm.
then mount your camera on a solid footing like an old enlarger or try pot
use one light source with either a 60 or 100 watt incandescent lamp.
set the white balance 9 all now adjustable on your PC) to incandescent and away you go. I use the axial mode for even lighting.....experiment.
if you can contact me , I will send you instructions and pictures of my setup.
check out my home page.
