includes a report of a recent Noble Numismatics auction, No. 94, in Melbourne, in July 2010, Lot 264:

"... A bidding war took place over a lot of eight 1966 20ยข pieces with a slight flaw on the numeral two. These sold for $12,349 (including buyer's premium, currently 16.5% including GST), way above the $1000 estimate."

the Noble's catalogue describes them as:
"Two with toning around top edge otherwise extremely fine - uncirculated."

even so, that'd be over $1500 each ...

Keep noodling !

Wow! I guess the seller would be extremely happy with the results.

There has been a large increase in the population of PCGS slabbed wavy 20's just recently.

Rarities in high grade such as these are very desirable for quality coin collectors. They don't usually come onto the market, they become available through who you know and are quickly snapped up. I know of about 6 that were sold recently all PCGS MS64-MS66 and sold for multi-thousands of dollars in just a few days.
