Welcome to the forums. Wish I knew more about gold dollars but my knowledge is pretty limited.

Hi BJR

Welcome to the forum !!

There is no way that we can estimate a value of the coin without seeing pic's !!

Is there anyway that those can be provided ?

The most important factor regardless of its potential value would be it's grade. If you know about coin grading and agree with the grade the seller is claiming it is you may want to search closed auctions on ebay for an idea of what they sell for. There are some other price guide type listings online if you search for them.

Perhaps even the Heritage Auction. We definitely need a pic on this one!

Hello! Condition, as stated is critical in determing value. The date and mintmark you ask about is one of the rarer dates with only 16,000 minted. In VF-20 it is valued at about $500.00 to $700.00. Move up to an AU-55 and were looking at about $6000.00!!! This is the highest reported grade in the NGC Population report with one reported higher grade in the PCGS Population report. I hope this helps. Mike

Hi BJR.

Just thought it would be important to add that you also need to be able to trust the person offering you the coin. Not only their integrity, but also their knowledge. In other words, sometimes coins are faked, (especially the scarcer dates) and sometimes even the seller might not know the difference.
Rest in Peace

adobero1, excellent points and advice. Many of these coins were "faked". Even the common dates....Authentication is also critical as well as trusting the skills of the seller. Mike
