These links have been posted before, but it has been a while. It is good to bring them up every now and then.

Try Google and/or Yahoo for the many different TPGS's. You would be amazed at how many there are that are listed. And many more that are not listed. Some sound or look like the more popular ones so not even necessary to make the faked ones but someone is anyway. The many other ones are becoming more and more common and some sound so much like a popular one you wouldn't notice until later. It's becoming like batteries where you see Dinocell, Duracill and so many others you forget how to spell the real ones.

Truly disgusting and sickening. I saw piles of fake chinese garbage coins in california flea markets this summer and the worst thing is seeing all the poor fools buying them.

Not just at flea markets. Check out places like Walmart, Kmart, Hrabor Frieght and almost anyplace. Went to a place called Cabella's where everything is way, way overpriced and there too everything is from China. Oddly enough I talked to a seller at a flea market that was from Korea and he told me the Korean Government subsidized him to sell either stuff from China or Korea. When you think about it, since China can make all our stuff for less than we can, why doesn't our government let them make our coinage. Outsource the USMint to China since they are already making lots of those coins now. And just who do you think your talking to when you contact an HP or AOL help desk?

Be very careful in today's market. If you do not know your coins know your dealer. The infiltration of ever improving fakes from China and elsewhere continue. Here is a small sampling of what is out there. Over 1,600 photos here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/coinforgeryebay/sets/

Now the next big problem is since there are so many articles about fake coins, fake slabs, fake slabs with fake coins now. Just how do you know if those are real articles or fakes? Imagine a fake story about faked coins inside a faked slab. Why even this post could be a fake you know.

Carl I'm still waiting for a slab authentication service. I just won't buy an unslabbed PCGS slab.
