Hello,
Below is my lates coin blog entry.
December 6, 2010 - Custom Coin Binder:
Hello,
The last couple of weeks have seen some activity, mostly in my head. I have been thinking a lot about finally getting my raw coins into a permanent home/holder. After a string of e-mails from members of my local coin club and from Coin Community Forum and also after looking around a bit on my own, I have decided to purchase a set of coin holders, pages, and binders that will allow me to organize my coins any way I want and not be restricted by a coin album's unmarked number of holes and pages. I went back and forth on the holder but decided to buy a cardboard holder that can be stapled since those are the most common used. The binder pages should fit in a standard 3 ring binder and that means I can choose any binder I want, I prefer the D ring binders.
Granted the binder idea, given to me by several different people, does not offer the pretty outer presentation of a coin album but that is OK because I can customize a cover and slowly add to it when I need to. So, I will be making that purchase before the end of this month and year. I also attended the Aurora Coin Show on November 27, 2010. I didn't think I was going to make any purchases but I did. I bought the 2000
State Quarter Proof Set and 4 assorted
Eisenhower dollars. I also purchased the 2010 First Spouse Medal Set from The U.S. Mint. I should also have that by the end of the month and year.
I'm almost caught up on my
Coin World and Coin Values reading and in doing so I have learned that
Coin World has decided to integrate Coin Values into their monthly special edition, just like they have done with Paper Money and World Coins magazines. So, being that I subscribe to the "combo" my subscription has been extended into 2012. Once I get me First Spouse Medals I will, of course, update again.
