Keep an eye out for any robberies reported in the area.Chances are good they were just dumped at the bank.Wonder what you would have found if you would have requested half dollars or quarters?Perhaps another trip to the same bank is in order real soon, like now. heheheh

Actually, I was thinking of the aftermath from something more sinister.
I almost mentioned that (as I have in the past), but I am trying to be less cynical.

Yeah, yeah... you can stop laughing now.

But seriously, the only reason why I think it is less likely than normal (although still very possible) is that the coins were still wrapped (easy to identify if the victim reported it).

If stolen, I would suspect an anonymous dump into CoinStar. Then again, thieves are generally stupid. Oh well, forever cynical I guess!

I was thinking in the same lines Jbuck. There was a guy who was robbed of the contents of his safe in my area awhile back and the thieves took all of his coin rolls to the bank about 10 miles away and cashed them in.They were all dated like the ones above and even had the owners name on them.Needless to say the thieves weren't the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree and were arrested shortly after because that bank requires a person to leave there name in case the rolls are short..

If that is stolen property, that really stinks. But, if just some old guy that said, "what the heck, time to cash in", then good for you!

Well in the spirit of the season, I would give thanks that the collector's kids didn't want to mess with selling all those "pennies". Perhaps we all could if you decide to offer the forum some of you extras. Happy Thanksgiving.

How's that for a cynic to end on a positive note.
