It shouldn't be that many replicas out there unless you are on ebay Australia with tons of modern nonsense. Unless you are after rare coins or some of the nicer Imperial coins. Do you check it under Coins & Paper Money > Coins: World > Europe > Russia or just type it under Russian coins in search field?

And with 9,670 coins in the collection at the moment, you'll excuse me if I don't post pics of all of them here in this thread.

I don't know what your problem is; you can always show it like this:

That's what my son likes to do with his collection.

I'm sure if I didn't guard my coins they'd end up in the pile too.

I collect coins from every country. I like to get as many denominations and varieties as I can. I have a three ring binder for each continent - three, actually, for Europe, alone (and we're talking 3" or so wide binders :-). I have one binder for just the US and Canada. I also have seperate binders for Russia, where my grandparents came from, and Israel (I'm Jewish). I'm also a birder and very interested in Native American culture, so I have a collection of about 60 or so coins from all around the world with birds on them, as well as about a dozen coins featuring Native Americans or Native American symbols. I have a small collection of foreign paper money, as well. I've been collecting for over 30 years. My step-father traveled to South America a lot on business (usually to Brazil) and I used to love looking at the change he brought back with him. He would give me coins he had a lto of or from countries where he didn't think he'd be going back to.

Silver Girl, sounds like we have similar collections - I also have binders for continents, and a separate one for Russia (and other former Soviet Republics). But for my specialty, instead of birds and Native American themes, I have British monarch collection.

how can I explain ? well I will give it a try, 3 Ring binder is like a paperless book with rings that are spring loaded to hold paper or plastic sheets that have 3 holes punched along there edge the plastic sheets have plastic pockets to hold 2x2s witch measure 2 inches by 2 inches. now the 2x2s are card board with two holes and plastic on 1 side and are the size of the coin . You put the coin that you want to mount on the hole that is covered with plastic and fold the 2x2 in half enclosing the coin in plastic but you can see your coin threw the holes you then staple the cardboard to hold the coin and then you put the 2x2 in one of the plastic pockets on the plastic sheet in the binder . now that I have you totally confused you can look around this site or google coin holders and browse

Great thread--I always enjoy seeing collections.
Myself, I collect die varieties and overdates on world coins--mostly Canada, Australia, and Europe.
I've posted a lot of pics of my finds on the World Varieties Forum.
