Just picked up Canadian Coin Digest by the guys who publish "The Standard Catalog of World Coins".

It has some very nice articles in it by Mark Fox about the "10 Marks that have made their mark on Canadian Coins". My favorite part, a section about the "J.O.P. Dollars" (they used pictures from my collection).

The valuations are much more conservative than Charlton's. Some examples:
1948 Silver Dollar MS63 Charlton's = $3250 CCD = $2000
1953 LD Staps Half Dollar MS 63 Charlton's = $225 CCD = $150

I purchased the book recently.

I have two major complaints:

---the coinage numbers for circulation coins (and many other coins) end mostly around 2006! That was very disappointing for a book published 2010.

---there are some very obvious and highly unnecessary mistakes (25 Cent coins for „Edmonton Olympics"?!

Where are editors when you need them?

But, if you need a concise reference book you can buy it.

WOW, if they have the same mistake as the Krause, then they are either published by the same people or it's completely plagiarized. I'm talking about the Edmonton Olympics. I must've been hibernating when that event happened.
