Hey there! I need some help from the more cunning people..

I've got two 1 cents from 1859. I know there are loads of different versions of the "9" and such, however I don't have any knowledge at all about it really.

I think one of the coins is Brass and one is Bronze, since they have different colours, but might be because being worned in different way I don't know.. I'll try to provide good pictures that are zoomable.. I don't really know how to spot double-strikes and such.

1st coin:

2nd:

Thanks for any help.

Tomten, welcome to the forum@
I clicked on the links, and they worked, however the scans/photos are too dark to be much help. More light, and better focus would make a lot of difference.
Don;'t be afrais to ask for help. There are many members here, who can help you "ge it rightt". I am not one of them, unfortunately. I still have much to learn, and this forum is the place. Super Dave, can be a LOT of help.

Thanks again!

I'm taking pictures with a 10mpx camera, but I'm not sure which settings is the best this type of photographing. However I should be able to get better light!

I'm glad to hear that there are helpful members here! I bet I have a few hundred coins I can't ID or just won't spend the hours on the internet searching for the right ID.. I sat 6 hours today just taking pictures of coins from various countries and sorting them up. Real messy and timeconsuming!

Thanks for any help, I'll reply with better pictures tomorrow.

Neither is a brass coin .. just regular bronze and no significant variety, as far as I can tell from the pics. 1859's are just neat to have and compare with other like dates .. it's hard to find 2 that are excatly the same because of all the minting problems and die repairs made!
