Not sure who decides what makes a type set and where the holders are sold. I like the idea in principle to break up the monotony of the regular sets. Any help would appreciated. Thanks. John

I have a friend that put together a holed type set. Every coin in it had to have a hole, preferably at the 12:00 position. I have to admit that it was a really neat looking set when he completed it. It was different than anything I had seen before and he said it was actually quite a challenge.

Manufacturers like Dansco have type set Albums on the market. They dedcide what you should collect. Some people make their own by just using 2x2 cardboard flips or the plastic flips. Then putting them in those 20 holder plastic sheets and then into a 3 ringed binder. This allows you to move them around and or lable them as you want. Easily expandable by using more pages and/or a larger 3 ringed binder.
Or you could do as I do and just purchase blank pages and blank binder covers from someone like Whitman and again, make whay you want.

Well, I did pick up a couple of eagle type set holders for cent and dimes. Seems interesting and will allow me to buy a higher quality example for each without having to start a new album. Kids will probably want to take them to show and tell as well!
