A couple of miles down the road my parent have ran a choose and cut Christmas Tree farm for many years. Mom said she was working in the trees this summer (trimming) and lost a gold earring. She asked me to look for it as she knows I love metal detecting.
So... off I (and my Ace 250) go yesterday. I waited several months so the grass would have died down. Rainclouds were moving in, so I only got to look around for may 20-30 minutes before a thunderstorm rolled in. I didn't find her earring yet, as I only search a small part of a multi acre field of small trees. However, I found coins all over the place. Now that I think of it, it makes sense- people for decades have went to this field and bent over or crouched down to cut a tree with a saw and sprinkled the ground with their change from their pockets. Unfortunately the farm opened after 1964, so I don't know if I'll find any silver, but there are lots of coins in general.
So... if there's such a business like that where you are, I recommend you go beg permission immediately!
