At first glance I thought they have merged mohur palm tree with latest KG6 tiger, but upon checking the tiger looks different. Interesting detail - both Imperial animals, the lion on mohurs and the tiger on rupees look down, this one looks up. Symbolism?

alganbagerap these are being sold on ebay if you do a search for RBI you will come up with these svslav, the original design was the mohur design but at the last minute it was decided to change the lion from the mohur to the tiger as independent india did not want the colonial symbol to continue this happened in 1947. yes the tiger is looking right at the coin collector int his one to gobble them up. brokencompass this one is supposed to be in circulation but it will never come. I had to buy mine from dealers at crazy prices but I have got used to it now so I dont complain anymore :)

Yep, found them. I see different denominations, 1, 2, 5, and bimetal 10. Prices mostly unreasonable but I see 1r for $4.99 (+S&H) as Buy It Now. Is it me or some of them sport weak strike?

99% of indian coins are struck weakly the machinery is to be blamed. the proof set with solid strikes was sold by the mint for $150 what can I say? the prices are going through the roof for all indian coins and stamps older sets have started getting 1000$+
now if you come across a calcutta mint coin you will be lucky to see the tiger on the coin :)
