I dug this one last week, my best so far of about 12 this year. I thought it came out nice. Reverse is great too, I could have taken a better pic but was in a hurry.

Nice looks like AU details with possibly some light cleaning. Good clean liberty, nice strike, no evidence of heavy wear anywhere on that obverse

Thanks fenton. Yes, light cleaning, I recovered this one at a depth of about 8", surprised it came out this nice. In the same area, I also dug a 1917 Canadian quarter, couple mercs, roosie, and a '45 Walker, one of my better dirtfishing trips.

Silver can hold up superlatively in the ground. When folks find a key date, I would recommend NCS conservation I have seen ones ruined by harsh cleaning. This piece looks fine, however so any cleaning was done professionally with an eye toward conserving the find.

Very nice for being in the ground that long. I miss the metal detecting, very addicting hobby.

WOW! Great ground find! I think I can see some hairlines from cleaning....but the price was right!
