I was wondering what percent below spot you were offered. And what is the norm.

I usually get spot or a little more on ebay....but lose about 11 % in fees. You can also check the APMEX link on this page to see what they pay right now..that's a pretty good guide.

I haven't sold any silver lately but the local dealer offers about 5%-10% below spot and as you know, depending on what the product is marks it a certain percentage above spot when he sells it. Typically, he sells on replacement cost....kinda like insurance.

So far I have been able to sell at either spot or just over spot. But just like Maineman750, I loose 11% from ebay fees.
Rest in Peace

I've been selling at 21x face and buying at 17.5x face. You can survive on a small spread only in times like these. For sterling silver I usually pay 85% of melt and sell for 93%, scrap gold I pay 90% and sell for 96%

Every two weeks or so I sell all the silver that I find rollsearching. I am now starting to sell the silver that I have saved up. I think it is good to sell when it climbs and then you can reload on pullbacks. Just like stocks. Pigs get slaughtered.

I am going to sell some after work. 21 40% halves I found and 1 40%.
I have a 104 half in bad shape and I might, might sell that too.
Oh and 2 rolls of quarters.

The reputable dealer around here offers $0.50 under melt, and generally sells for $0.50 - $1.00 above. The disreputable one offers around $1.50 under, and sells for about $1.50 over.
