I found this 1.5 inch/about 3.8 cm wide brass medal of Jesus (I'm guessing it's him - there are no words anywhere on it). The back has the Great Seal of the US on it, which seems a rather odd thing to appear on a medal of Jesus (to me it does, anyway). Ideas?

Looks very much like a Franklin Mint type piece. They flooded the numismatic world with medals back in the 1960's and 1970's. I don't think there is any full accounting of everything they produced and I could not find a match for this particular medal.

If it does turn out to be a Franklin Mint piece, it is fun to collect but would likely have little or no numismatic value.

I've seen a bunch of Franklin Mint medals/tokens at the shop and they all have that f over m mint mark (looks like a "f" with wings). This one is totally unmarked.

I don't know who this Jesus you're refering to is, just looks like a well-groomed cult leader to me.
