cadotter,
Sorry for the bad news, I'm sure your greatly disappointed.
We should never give out values before we see the coins and you see why
everybody was so anxious to see them.
Best of luck to you and your new baby.
Stick around, maybe there is a 1916 in that big hoard of yours.
You did say there were 100 more?

Man!! I was all excited and on the edge of my seat reading through this thread until... the pictures.

I agree with Nod (and everyone else!), only the top left is Type 1 and it has the 1917 rivets.

Total bummer!

Reminds me of when my friend kept talking about this "hot date" he had. All was good until all the guys were going out to dinner and we spotted him with Helga the Horrible. OOPS.

There is some good news in this...a discovery of hundreds of 1916 SLQ's might have devalued the existing ones a bit.
Rest in Peace

Agreed. I am 100% sure that none of those are 1916 Standing Liberty quarters. As stated, one is a dateless 1917 type 1; and the rest are type 2 1917-1930 Standing Liberty quarters. I am sure it is very disappointing, and I'm sorry to inform you. None of those are worth more than melt($4-$5 a piece) from what I can see.
What made you think they were 1916s?
Rest in Peace

By the way, CONGRATULATIONS ON THE BABY! That is exciting! My wife and I just had our first baby 2 weeks ago, and it was a wonderful life changing experience for us.

Yeah the baby is a MUCH nicer gift from god than any 1916 quarters. They are also much more expensive :)

Well...I'm sorry these coins aren't what you thought they were. But like johnny said, at least you aren't out anything. I wish you and your family the very best with the arrival of your new baby!
