If the census is DD, I will then tell you what year this lincoln is. Just having a little fun with this one. The pictures have not been doctored, I just don't know if it is a DD, or if when a penny is in such perfect condition as this one that the thickness is normal, I actually have not seen one in such prestine condition before. The first is at 100x magnification, the second is at 200x magnification, you kinda of loose a little bit at 200x. Image: s-2.jpg13.37 KB Image: s-1.jpg14.65 KB

Well, 12 people have looked at this, and no replies. What is up? Are the photo's not good enough? This is not a joke. I really want opinions, please. I think it is DD, cause of the thickness and because you can see the notch and the separation. Would someone please put their opinion out here?

The lighter surrounding color is not doubled, but a reflection of light... As for the metal, I can't quite tell, can you provide any more pictures?

Most people might check out your post, but if they're not sure of the answer they don't wanna give ya bad info. When the right person comes along if they want better pics etc they'll let ya know. Keep in mind a lot of people can't necessarily get on in the middle of the day either.

I don't believe it is a Double Die, Hang in there . People often read the posts wanting to help you thats why you had 12 views, but maybe they feel they dont have the right info for you, Or maybe all 12 of the people who read are many of our brothers and sisters from other countries , who want to learn by seeing your pics and posts but do not know anything about American coins. Everyone here wants to be helpful if they can. Also I do know that some people, knowing that their are people who are experts in a certain area would rather wait for you so you can get the best answer from the most knowlable people. I not being one of them though. I have also seen a post go by for a week or so and then go on fire and be a hot topic ..

Check for split serifs. Look at orientation of doubling on whole coin. Notice if the coin looks as if it shifted when struck. S looks to me from the angle of photos to be Machine Doubling. Cannot tell without seeing rest of coin. Nice coin mess up anyways. Good luck. Gusp

Ok here are some more pic's. I thought there was a dd where you actually don't see a seperation, but that the thickness shows it, I believe it is a dd#8 or something like that. Any hoo, enjoy..
