This is a U.S. Mint issued Commemorative coin from 1994
This coin came in a "Three Coin Set". Uncirculated and Proof 3 coin Sets were issued. All were minted in Silver.

The coins were P.O.W. , Vietnam, and Women in Military Service, contained in each Set.

1994 U.S. Veterans 3 Silver Dollar Proof SetThis Three Coin Proof Set salutes the commitment and dedication of America's military veterans. The set includes:
• 1 proof condition "Prisoners of War" silver dollar made of 90% silver and struck at the Philadelphia Mint.
• 1 proof condition "Vietnam Veterans Memorial" silver dollar made of 90% silver and struck at the Philadelphia Mint.
• 1 proof condition "Women in Military Service for America" silver dollar made of 90% silver and struck at the Philadelphia Mint.

And then the same for the Uncirculated version Set.

I don't "reccomend" these sites or anything, just something I found for a picture and information for you.......but here are some links that show it.

GREAT pictures of the Set on this link ! ......

Your coin is pictured on the right in this Set on the link.

And another site where your coin is pictured.....

First....the coin "should" have the date on the lower center......and it "should" be part of a 3 coin set.
I don't know why yours doesn't have the date .....sompin' fishy goin' on here ....

The value of this coin does not warrant a "counterfeit" concern. And it should still be in the set it came in, unless somebody wanted to bust it out for grading or to put it in an album.
I'm sure it's not an "error" coin.......I doubt it'd be a Liberian production.
Guess we better wait for some opinions from the "higher-ups" here with more knowledge......

Interesting ... where is the date?

They did make these in the 3 coin set like Eaglefoot said. They
also sold them as a single proof or UNC coin, like the one I
bought my wife in 94 (wife is also a retired Master Sergeant).

Mine has a date.

The one from jnesbitts link mentions

"Material : Alloy with silver inside, plated with pure silver."

Which looks like the one Enso99 has posted .. I don't think it is a U.S. mint product.

Maybe the great country of Liberia DID produce this coin then...... why though ? I have no idea whatsoever !
It would make no sense to do that --- any coin company or country --- for this particular coin. But if it was done as a "error" coin nefariously, then I could see the evil in the dirty, potentially prosperous endeavor.

Sorry I don't know how to reply individually. I bought the coin last year through ebay. I was about to sell it but could not find any details on it. I have to say that the quality is superb, proof like and it's exactly the same as the 1994 commemorative with the exception that the date is missing.

I moved this post to the 'US Commemoratives' forum.

This 'coin' is probably a bullion replica; omitting the date and denomination to avoid being confused with the real one.

Definitely a replica. Why this coin? Who knows...I've seen replicas and fakes of all sorts of coins coming out of China. Especially on ebay.
