I went to my Fathers place today for Fathers day, only I got the present. My Father gave me 12 Aussie $1 notes and a small jar full of 1,2 and 5 cent coins, plus a couple of Hong Kong coins. Also an Indonesian 500 rupiah note and an English one pound note.
Can anyone let me know if the Aussie notes are worth more than face value. Here are the serial numbers...

DKQ 405072 Uncirculated
DKL 161414 Circulated, small tear and creases
DJV 591797 Circulated, very good condition
DKZ 624179 Circulated, dog eared
DLJ 594161 Circulated, couple of creases and dog ears
DFR 795025 Circulated, 2 small tears,dog ear
DKG 143498 Circulated, small tear, no creases
DKL 904592 Circulated, small tear
DDH 929244 Circulated, no tears or creases except for one dog ear
DJL 154620 About Uncirculated
DLK 595626 About Uncirculated, no creases except one dog ear
DGR 902071 Circulated, small tear and one dog ear

Sorry about the description, but I'm not into collecting notes, so I'm not sure of correct terminology.

Would need to check serials with my book to see what signatures are on the notes unless you can provide some help (will check tomorrow. Anything unc is worth keeping but beyond that I will reply tomorrow.

By the look of it they are all R78 $1 Johnston/Stone notes. Unc notes catalogue at AU$6.00. Less than unc are almost unsellable.

Bigfella. Most do have a signature that looks like it ends in "ston" but two of the signatures look different.

Barry. I don't have a Macca's, I usually just borrow it out of the library when I need it.

That is the signature of Harold M Knight...appointed Govenor of the reaserve bank in July 1975 and retired July 1982

Terrible handwritting...You wonder how he passed grade school.
