Is it my imagination or does the Charltons 2011 guide not list the 1969 1 cent ms-65 as $15?

An ebayer seller is arguing very aggressively with me his claim that the current trends for this coin is $50. All his coins seem to be inflated. When I asked him about this he unleashed 5 emails on me overnight being very aggressive.

Anyways, just trying to find out if I'm out to lunch here.

Here is his listing, he has since reduced the $50 trend to $40

Don't have Charlton book but the fact it is a ICCS RED certified coin would have an impact on the price.

Thanks guys, what is bothering me about this seller is he is claiming Charltons trends value is $50 when it is not. According to mine it is $15 (yes ICCS tends to increase it but that is not what Charltons is quoting). I just get tired of sellers misrepresenting their products (lying).

Guess I should just avoid ebay if I want honesty.

Cheers

Don't rely on Charlton's for pricing.

Nope, I don't rely just on Charlton's or any single source. I use several and then decide how much the coin is worth to me. My problem with this guy on ebay is he claims that the trends are one thing when they are not (in order to mislead his buyers). Then when I asked him about it, lowers the trend and calls me a troublemaker. I just like to call a guy out when I think they are trying to mislead or cheat people.

Thanks guys!

I'm behind you TwoCentsWorth, the person is just trying to bully his way through. He things that there are people out there that have no intelligence or knowledge of coins, and he is the sum total of all knowledge. Keep up the good work. I also like how you check several resources to come up with what you feel is fair for yourself.

I am out to lunch again and glad there's wi-fi access here
The sellers handle is "dreamerscott" so that should give you an indication of where his price estimate is coming from.
The listing is not "buy it now" but rather auction format. The start price is $11.99 shipping included and with one day left there are no bidders.Though he may dream that someone will believe his estimate, the start price indicates he knows the real value of the coin.
If you were to contact every seller who overstated the value,or grade of a coin,or misattributed a variety;you would be at it 24/7.Be thankful you have the knowledge to avoid these and move on to a coin you want at a price you are willing to pay.
For commonly traded coins such as this you need look no further than Canadian Coin News trends, the prices there are the current marketplace prices for cetified coins.
Now back to work

It's a buyers market for these in MS-65. We could say that Trends is out to lunch :D I sold off my MS-66 set
because it was pretty clear that prices were headed for the outhouse, and continued new finds aren't likely to help the situation. An MS-65 is questionable whether or not it's even worth sending in now.

Haven't finished breakfast yet,but I had to dig out my Charlton's to see who's out to lunch.
2010 Charlton's -MS65 $40
2011 Charlton's - MS65 $15
1cent is absolutely correct. The MS65 bubble has burst,it's a buyers market for most modern coins in this grade.

That had become an issue on EbayUSA with sellers listing rediculous trends on raw coins from the PCGS price guide which only applies to PCGS graded coins and usually on the very top end of value as well. ebay no longer allows trend values in auctions although PCGS trends for PCGS slabbed coins might still be allowed.

What are the trends in MS-60, 61,62,63 and 64? I got about 50 of them in those conditions?
