DDR = Doubled Die Reverse. As far as I know there is only one variety of this coin.some perhaps with a little more detail than others but still only one variety,, unlike the high and low leaf wisconsin on purpose coin. Rick

Thanks Rick. As of now, on ebay I see DDR#1 thru DDR#25 So in general, is it the DDR#1 that is always worth the most on any DD ?

Tim are these coins numbered by a TPG or the seller ? I'm not particularly interested in these coins since I really believe them to be purposely altered,, but that is My own opinion,, so I have not followed the progress of them through the market place nor have I kept up on all the post discovery changes. But those numbers maybe nothing more than 1-25 coins as in someone trying to make the more money from them by numbering them . Rick

with 11 different varieties I think the jury is still out on which will hold ,, If I had to guess I would probly go with #1 as well if I could only chose one otherwise I would try and hedge myself by collecting the set.

if I am not mistaken the 33 is the most sought after right now, maybe cladking can tell for sure because I am not 100% positive. I do know theer is a boatload of these DDR #'s that have been confirmed and that are attributed as such by ANACS as extra Tree varieties and PCGS has or is going to start as well

sorry, that was supposed to be #3 instead of 33, guess I didn't hit shift long enough like I ususally do with my "I". After looking at them it may be 4 or 5 that I have heard was most popular. Heck like I said cladking would probably be the one to ask about this because I just dont know anymore, there is so many of them I cant keep up. Mine is DDR #1 thats all I know

11 varieties and counting just for the Philly coins,,
Like I said the jury is still out on which if any hold future gains,, many will eventually be considered as minor variations of the original, a few will be considered true varieties,, looking at the pics If I were to buy these ,, 1,3 5 and 11 would be the ones I would put together.

The numbers just refer to the order that the varieties were found and authenticated, i.e. #1 was the first found and so on. They are not an indicator of rarity or value. Ken Potter (bigtime variety and error specialist) has been doing quite a bit of the work on these and has some info on his website http://koinpro.tripod.com/
