Could you please post the weight and a link to the ebay auction? I'd like to take a look at the seller's feedback and other items.

The problem is I just won it and have not paid for it yet. This was his only item and no other sales! So before I pay I wanted to check a little bit to protect myself.

Offhand, I don't like the looks of that 8, but I am far from expert with Morgans.

I don't particularly like the look of it either, but I will defer to the experts like Bryan...

i'd say that that is a fake. the lettering looks wrong, the bust looks wrong, and the date REALLY looks wrong

okay, now I'm 99.9999999% sure that this is a fake, this is his first item sold. and to have a high dollar coin as your first item doesn't sound right.
and to keep it unslabbed is worse

Definitely fake. The date is all wrong.

The coin is a fake, no doubt about it whatsoever. There was only one obverse die used for the entire series of 1893 S issue, and that coin is not it. The coin that you just foolishly purchased is a very crude counterfeit....bring it to the attention of the seller before any shipping charges are incurred by either party.....(the seller may not know that the coin is not genuine, but you do ...now)....I might recommend to you that you do a little homework in the future (before you do your bidding).

Yeah another red flag is the price. No king in this grade is not going to sell for $900... more like $5000 (!)

Quote: BUT I SAW THIS WITH 45 SECONDS LEFT AT A PRICE OF $900 WITH 18 BIDDERS SO I HAD TO JUMP ON IT How very wise of you....Sorry if my words sounded as though I thought that you needed some guidance, but that is exactly what I did think.....(if you can't take honest criticism for your actions, then don't post stuff like this).
