In 1928, the US Mint produced two of the most beautiful commemorative coins ever made IMHO ..... Oregon Trail and Hawaiian.

I find it fascinating to consider the Natives represented on these coins ...... Laura Fraser Indian and Chester Beach Hawaiian King.

Notice the very different attitudes of the natives ...... the Indian is saying (to me) "Stop, no more" ...... while the Hawaiian King beckons for arrivals with an open hand.

Soooo ..... from my collection (1935-S Oregon, PCGS MS67 and 1928 Hawaiian PCGS MS64) ..... view for yourself the perfectly complementary images from 1928 .....

Those two were intended to view together!
