Would it change your perception to know that the seller is also known as Tuesdaynightcoins, and is also the principal of ANI Grading? If not for SGS, this guy would likely be known as the greasiest seller on ebay for selling overgraded stuff in worthless slabs that he builds himself.

Not with a 10-foot pole. Not with a stolen 10-foot pole.

without seeing the Reverse it is impossible to attribute a 1878 8TF Morgan anyhow. If I cant see the reverse of any 1878 Morgan, I always just go to the next one because obverse and reverse pics on 1878 is very important because many many different varieties have Share the same dies, its the marriage between which two it is that is important

ANI seems to have about as bad a reputation as possible. Most collectors seem to rate it a step below AGC which I thought was on the bottom of the heap.

Just another seller slapping labels on a slab and selling them as "impartially graded" coins. SGS and NNC are the biggest offenders of this type, but ANI, CCGS, and a few others are trying to make the bigtime.

I can tell you a good one! Just yesterday I took 4 AU and UNC Morgans to my dealer to sell. I thought they were all common date Philly minted dollars and expected $20 to $30 on them and perhaps this one would go a little higher. He started talking about the 1878 being the nicest 8 over 7 he had ever seen. If it wasn't for a small black spot on one of the eagles wings it would far exceed the MS-63 he was grading it at. Well, quite honestly I did not look at the darn thing and had no idea I had grabbed a 7 over 8 EXTREMELY clear doubled feathers which is worth about $125 to $130 in MS-60 and jumps to $350 in MS-63. I am SOOOOOOOOO thankful I deal with one of the most honest men I have ever met as he could have offered me $30 to $50 bucks and I would not have even questioned it! Well he paid me $125 down and said he would settle just as soon as it sold as he thought it would probably bring around $250 with the black dot on the wing! I had completely forgotten I even owned the darn thing but did remember having the 78 with the pin head black dot after he brought it to my attention! NOW I remember!

Good for you, I am glad to hear of honesty people these days, and it could not of happened to a nicer person. In all my worldly travels and all of the thing I have done and the people I have met you all here are in a class of your own. Cheers to that.
