The quarters are sooooo ugly. It is worsened by the large size.

They should have put serious detail on these coins. If they were more like commemoratives and not novelty pieces from a junk shop, they would be a better investment.

Yeah, no thanks on any of those "coins". I don't think they will go over well at all.

I disagree, at least when comparing them to the Statehood Quarter designs.

However, when comparing them to the classics, well, you may be right.

the mint halted the orders for these because everyone was trying to make such a huge profit off of them. They made the resellers (that are on their list of suppliers to sell to) agree to a certain percentage over what it cost them. I think they only cost around $170.00 a piece from the mint but the general public can not buy them from the mint so everyone is at the mercy of the authorized dealers. there are allot of them that will probably sell for allot less than those they will probably be raw though

This whole fiasco is outrageous. With the internet the whole authorized dealer network is a scam. It is too easy now to sell directly to individuals. Let the mint keep all the profit and maybe employ a few more people and spend more time/energy/money on quality control.
