Hello,
I just have to share this coin.
It is a jewellers work from around 1900.
I like the design of this coin in original and in general I hate altered coins but this one is simply beautiful.

Is it gold leaf or some type of enamel?

This is a copper coin.
It was first silver coated then partially gold plated.

LOL, I had that completely backwards
That would definitely not be an easy alteration but the results look quite nice, thanks for sharing

That depends on what your numismatic interests are, wouldnt you say? Counterfeit coins have little to none 'true' numismatic value, but there are few ppl on the boards here who actively collect them (even I have bought a few coins, KNOWING they were counterfeit) - cancelled coins, planchets, etc, all fall into the same boat... It all depends on your interest!

Zaggy is correct. It depends on your interest. Some people are interested in counterfeits. Recently, I saw a Great Britain HalfPenny that is a counterfeit, but it has more value than an authentic Britannia piece.
