Here are few more off beat coins that should never have left the mint, plus a couple of patterns.

Image 1 and 4 go together, image 2 and 3 go together.

I will have a few more crazies and other interesting bits and pieces to post in a few days' time.

There a couple of standard circulation coins in this lot. Should be easy to spot.

Crazies they are! What exactly is that rectangular Thai thing?

That Thai thing is a die trial of the Thai 1 Baht coin in the image next to it.
It is struck on a pure copper plate. The strike is quite light, and with the heavy copper patina, is hard to photograph.

I will try a camera at a later time, rather than use a scanner; perhaps the image will be better then.

How do you get a thing like that? You must know someone at the mint!?

I got that die trial from a coin dealer, who is widely known around Australia, but also happens to be a lifelong acquaintance of mine. I did have to pay a little for it!
