I found this in a roll and it seems like a proof to me. It looks like a mirror, the rim is nice and sharp, and I never see that many steps on a normal circulated nickel from the 60s but then again it may just be BU. Can anyone tell if this was broken out of a proof set?

Impaired? That is one nice roll find nic for sure! I am not much into to Jefferson's, but I would definitely keep that one.

I'm probably using the wrong terminology. I said impaired because it was in circulation and no longer in a set.

The dings by the date would probably qualify it as an impaired proof but it is still a nice roll find

I think you used the correct term about it being impaired

looks nice, I see alot of worn die crazing " we trust " and the back side on the right of the memorial . I dont think a proof would have such worn die marks.
