I found this quarter in my change recently. I haven't been able to find much about this type of error if it even is one. There is a crater appearance on the front with the stamping over it. On the back of the coin there isn't a corresponding gouge or mark. The center (lowest point) of the defect is still higher than the rest of Washington. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum! Unfortunately this quarter had heat applied to it after it left the mint so it is just a damaged coin.
