Santa brought me a Cherry Pickers Guide and I'm off and running with it. I have a beautiful UNC 1867 NR Shield nickel in my Type Set that has obvious mint errors, but I can't match it to any of the known/published ones. Help requested please! The DDO effect is most evidenced on the date and many of the devices less the lettering. Thanks! Paleoguy

What I am seeing is some Mechanical Doubling damage and also a little Longacre doubling. It does not appear to be a DDO.

All I see is Strike Doubling. Doubling on the date of a Shield nickel is never a DDO, but it could be an RPD.
