Go with the album not the folder. In the end you won't regret it.

I like the flexibility of 2x2's in quality binders. When new varieties are found you can easily rearrange. I only use those albums for me lower grade coins. My best sets of coins are all in 2X2's or 1.5x1.5's. Also I find that binders with 2x2's should be stored lying flat so the weight of the coins don't distort the pages. Also another company that makes nice albums is Lighthouse. Go check them out on line.

I have heard that Dansco albums protect your coins just as good at the 2x2 holders if not better because they have some type of chemical in them.

Some of older 2x2's had a chemical that would break down and do damage. Buy from a good supplier and they should be OK. What I really like about the 2x2's is the flexibility it gives you. You can remove them easily and when looking at your coins with a 10 mag loupe it is much easier than with an album. For upgrading it is so simple to switch coins on 2x2's. Also they give you room to write info like grades varieties and in my case serial numbers on all my coins in my collection. Software programs are available for this.

If you want a nice software package for cataloging your collection, google Liberty Street. I love it. You can make wish lists and you know the value of your collection with one click.

When you update your album with a higher grade coin, what do you do with the lower grade coin? 2x2's enable you to keep your inventories in slide boxes.

Libertystreet CoinManage looks like a good software but for 49.99 I think I can eat that price.

Those two items are different in that the Dansco covers the period from 1800 and up. The second folder is for 20th Century type - so it will only cover 1900 and up.
I personally think the Dansco's are the way to go if you are going to go with an album approach.

I just wish that I could use Liberty street on my Mac. Thats why I have 2 computers on my desk. It works great when searching ebay as I can check what condition my current coin is in if I see a good deal for upgrading and of corse its great to have want lists. You can print these out when you go to coin shows or dealers.
