The clear appliance bulb I use is 40 watts. The copy stand is quite sturdy, I'm quite sure it can accommodate a 2lb camera.

Quote: The downloadable PDF at condertokenbook is good for identification (mostly - as noted, there are ones I cannot find) but doesn't have any pricing. Indeed, it doesn't have prices. For those which interest me, I have a fairly good idea what many Conders sell for given grade. In other cases, before I make an acquisition, there are a lot of sources one can go to determine fair pricing. Book pricing becomes quite stale quickly, and I don't make purchases based solely on them.

Actually yes, that did Looks like it's not D&H 39, but Dalton 39. (D&H has 39 as something totally different). Check out this page: http://www.coinmac.com/Miscellaneous-utf8.html and search on 1813. The "Essex, Walthamstow" was the kicker - good find, Scooby! And I was mistaken about the PDF not having pricing - it's not on a per-token basis, but there are pricing evaluations based on denomination/country/rarity/condition and another of the same taking metal content into account. So at least there is average pricing (for the D&H ones anyway, which this PDF is an updated book of). I may need svslav's assistance to make it through all the 'mean' and 'standard deviation' table thingies, though.

So, which variety is that 1813 then?
Can you tell me the difference between the type 2 and type 3?

Thanks DV Scooby, I have no idea about the difference between the types. The only thing I can see that is different is the positioning of "HALFPENNY" in relation to the lion's head. It starts in the middle/above on one, and more in front of it on the other. CheetahCats, you mentioned places you can turn to for pricing advice - where? The only thing I've found so far is a sale last October of the Lady Godiva token (match #1 on this page: http://www.coinarchives.com/w/lotvi...9e31&Match=1 ). I found a few of my receipts, but they are years old. ebay prices are all over the map and half the time don't even mention the variety, so it looks like people buy them blindly. (not that I haven't done that before, it just makes specific research a little difficult!)

(not that I haven't done that before, it just makes specific research a little difficult!) Past Stacks and Spinks auctions are good sources for pricing. I also recommend if not already, you begin acquiring specimens from private dealers [who are more seasoned than you] to build relationships. (I do.) Once rapport is established, it is my experience that most dealers are very open to correspondence and will gladly provide pricing for specimens they have on hand that you may be interested in acquiring. Before bidding on any ebay'd Conder, I strongly recommend that you identify the specific variety before buying. In almost all cases, it will aid you in not overpaying. In the few remaining pleasant cases, it will assist you in cherry-picking. I also recommend that if you haven't already, become familiar with the British grading system and rarity scale. As I'm sure you know, it is different from the American system, and in my opinion, more concise, accurate, and less subjective. Knowing this aids me in assessing priced specimens with the actual appearance of grades of any ebay'd specimens.
