I just found a 44 wheat that looks steel,,but not magnetic,,it has several rim issues I cannot get a photo of,I was not going to post a scan do to the condition,,but,,here it is,,should I try to clean,,I think its a 44?

It doesn't look steel to me. It looks like corroded copper. This one was in a bad place for a while.

I wouldn't spend any more time on it than you already have. Get it away from your other coins before that disease spreads to them (it's contagious!).

You can find MS 44's all day long for a dollar, maybe even less.
