found this a few years back, never gave it a second thought, would this be concidered a broadstrike or just years of damage?

How much larger than a normal half dollar is it? Broadstrikes are struck without a collar and are larger in diameter than a normal coin plus they don't have reeding on the edge because that is put on by the collar.

Looks like normal wear. A nice coin though. A good hole filler.

eh, same size and I can see reeding, just worn. Thanks though, helps with the broadstrikes, was not sure exactly what to look for.
