Hi There, Could someone clear this up for me, My son brought me a 2006 No P non mag nickel,Did the mint do a No P proof set for that year? Could this be 92.5% silver
Thanks in advance.PS I found a 1916 1cent Norwegian coin in a roll of pennies today.

It sounds like one of the 3 different standard (and circulating) nickels for 2006. The composition without the "P" is Cupronickel just as 1982-1998. I believe it's a 75-25 alloy in favour of Copper.

It's certainly not silver -- sorry.

Good find on the Norwegian coin -- I never find stuff that old when I search.

The mint issued 3 types of nickels in 2006. the 2006, 2006 P and the 2006 RCM logo. The 2006 is nickel is non magnetic but defiantly has no silver content. Its a good idea to save all varieties of this year as some might become a little scarce, just as the 2006 P penny has become.
