I set this coin aside as a possible error, but looking at it again I wonder if that might have been wishful thinking. Unfortunately the scanner I have is only 600 dpi but I appreciate any input.

Not sure, too many pits and nicks. Wouldn't a die break show up as excess metal? Looks like a damaged coin to me.

I don't know much about this sort of thing but I thought it was interesting that the damage would push part of the "0" so much closer to the leaf stem than normal, without deforming the stem itself that I can see.

it is possible that it is a die break not sure because of the damage around the 0.
