The story is 5 yrs old , never been solved, where did they go ?
who took them? 3.6 million nickles

In another thread people assumed moving 250k face value of pennies out of the country would be impossible to do , they would get caught by the govt and pennies seized.

Here is a story even BETTER to show a example how things vanish under the govts watchful eye.

3.6 MILLION NICKLES , 23 TONS, $180,000
STOLEN AND NEVER RECOVERED FROM THE MINT.

Things get exported all the time from the u.s
some stolen , some illegally , some unknowingly and some just vanish into thin air.

Wow. I mean how does someone steal that many nickels. Must of been the night watch hah. Whoever stole them is probably a pretty smart person if he hasn't been caught and has had them for 5 years.

Ummm, no- the crime was solved in Feb 2005 and it was an inside job by the driver. It is suspected that the driver fled the country and he is currently wanted by the FBI.
