First of all-- I am sorry I posted this first in the wrong are (newbie). But I am looking for information about a coin that I found in my change. It is the back of a dime, stamped in silver, on one side and the reverse side is the back of a penny, stamped in copper. I am wondering if this is possible a true mistake. It has no seems, marks or any indications that it is a forgery. also, it is the size of a dime. any info greatly appreciated

It might be a very clever hoax. A dealer I know showed me a Lincoln Cent and when you flipped the coin over there was another year Lincoln. It was done so well that you could not see how. After careful inspection it looked like someone very carefully hollowed out the wheat right to the rim. Then a second cent was filed wafer thin then somehow glued into the first coin. This was done so well that you really had to look closely. This is maybe the same sort of thing you may have.

It sounds like a Magician's coin. If you look closely at the "silver side" you should see a seam between the rim and inside of the coin. The penny is hollowed out and a thinned dime inserted.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

If the penny side is also in silver I mean both sides made with same material like a regular coin but with different observe and reverse (as you said observe of Lincoln Cent - reverse of a dime stamped in the same planchet coin it ll be definitely a mule ) 2 sides 2 different material never knows there is always a chance of one of a kind or maybe just magic coin !

thanks everyone, I will have to get out my magnifying glass and look harder. Maybe now that I know where and what to look for I will be able to see it.
