FYI - The coin sold out, but the mint is now releasing extra inventory. About 200 coins are up for sale at regular price.

The link is only available to "master club" members (which I am definitely not!).

Chequer, thanks I had no idea the link was not available. As I said I just wanted to let the community know that a few more coins were released.

To view this item you must be a Master Club member. To maintain your membership in this club you must spend $1000.00 a year at the RCM.Very convenient of the RCM to limit the issue to 10,000 then find 200 more when they sell out.I guess membership does have its rewards ;)

This is something I would not consider......even if it was cheap. It looks like its from the NY mint .

Thanks for cleaning up the thread (even though you removed my comment).

My comment was that the artwork was nice, but I wish the raindrop was artwork as well (don't like the crystal element).

I asked for more details regarding the mysterious Overstock but got no feedback from the Mint. That's too bad.

Those extras appeared to have sold out instantly.

^^^ They could have been returns or stuff the Mint failed to sell (maybe they had a PO but they never got paid, so they were holding them). Could be lots of reasons like that.

It would be nice to have an explanation from the Mint though.

I do not think the Mint is producing extras. If word ever got out it would hurt the Mint way to much. They would be foolish beyond believe to chance it for the profit of 200 coins.

Somewhere in Vancouver I wonder... J&M, NW coin, Vancouver Coin and Stamp? $20,000 worth of coins is pretty big PO for a regular person.

The Royal Canadian Mint is returning to downtown Vancouver to launch a new retail destination* on Granville Street, between Georgia and Robson streets. The Mint is inviting the public to come to its new boutique to trade their pocket change for the Mint's new 2010 25-cent coloured poppy circulation coin and discover exciting new souvenirs and collector products.

When: Thursday, November 4, 2010
10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Local time)
Where: Royal Canadian Mint Boutique
752 Granville St
Vancouver, BC
(Between Robson and Georgia)

* The boutique will be open from November 4, 2010 to February 13, 2011.

I think they came from here...understandable since it closes in FEB.
