kena Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 1682 Posts	Posted 01/12/2011 08:21 am Hi, Received a bunch of coins from a co-worker again. Any idea where these are from and any idea of the date? Another coworker who is from Turkey thinks the worn silver looking coin is from Ottoman Egypt with a 1293 date which is like our 1877/8 date. He thinks it from the reign of Abdul Hamid. Sap Moderator Australia 16831 Posts	Posted 01/12/2011 09:11 am Left: Ethiopia. Centre: Israel. Right: it is indeed Ottoman Egypt, though the date is AH 1293 + 27 - 1 = 1319, which would be AD 1901/2. svslav Pillar of the Community United States 2605 Posts	Posted 01/12/2011 6:18 pm To be thorough, The Ethiopian 10 cents (on the left) are all dated EE 1936 but were struck between 1944 and 1966, and 1974-75. The Egyptian coin (on the right) has denomination of 5/10 qirsh. Report this Post to the Staff
