I received this Encased Cent by a collection US coins I bought recently. On the first hand I didn't like that, a nice 1901 cent in an aluminium ring.. When I searched the internet, I figured out that quit a few are around there.. Think this is type 16? Value?

There are a fair number of those Pan American Exposition Encased Cents around. While no rare they are very popular and a little pricy. Yours is nicer than average and I would not be surprised if it could reach the three figure range.
